Let's go huntin'. I can't see your last post displayed here for some reason but I did get it in my e-mail. That "Bump stock" has gotten some very bad press recently and there has been interest in banning it at least in SC and Nevada for obvious reasons. People were killing other people quite effectively before firearms were invented. If they were all banned I suspect killing people would continue one way or another. It is those people who would likely improperly use firearms who should be banned from getting one. Clearly, this is not being done very well.

For those readers who do not know what a "Bump Stock" is. A “bump stock” replaces a rifle’s standard stock, which is the part held against the shoulder. It frees the weapon to slide back and forth rapidly, harnessing the energy from the kickback shooters feel when the weapon fires.

The stock “bumps” back and forth between the shooter’s shoulder and trigger finger, causing the rifle to rapidly fire again and again. The shooter holds his or her trigger finger in place, while maintaining forward pressure on the barrel and backward pressure on the pistol grip while firing.

Did you read that my grandson got his first two deer on the same day recently? He has a new Remington .270 that his maternal grandpa gave him. The meat is being processed now. We'll have lotsa deer sausage and hamburger in the freezer very soon. The hit was a bit too far forward on one and that spoiled a bit of the meat but not much. The two shots resulted in an instant kill. From the size of the exit wound, I'd say the shot was around 150 feet using that caliber.
