Paul Tibbet and his crew probably had only a small idea of the results but very aware of the amount of other explosive he was otherwise carrying.
His rudder and mine was a lot bigger to compensate for the torque along with the hydraulic power to go with it.
I believe the Mohawk I flew was declared not sufficient rudder authority to issue a commercial license by the FAA, as was the case for a couple of other military aircraft. Could be wrong, but...Not sure about the Bronco, but all those had ejection seats, although not all zero-zero. (Airspeed and altitude.) The Boeings and Douglass had a big rudder.
There were a couple of detonations, but not nuclear, I believe.
