Ahhh yes, the bar shot. I have had a many of those in quite a few bars.

Had this demoniacal and dangerous gun design been pressed into service by the South it might have shortened both the war as well as many of its unfortunate participants. Such a "loose cannon" could have decimated the ranks on both sides in any battle, thus shortening the length of that battle, perhaps eventually even shortening the length of the whole war. Imagine the piles and piles of useless limbs in both blue and gray tatters stacked like firewood beside surgeon's tents. Frankly, surgeons on both sides prided themselves on how quickly they could saw off a limb and so there was already far too much of that already.

Not since Col. Jack S Cannonfodda designed the first and the only boomeranging explosive shell have so many given up their lives shaking their fists in anger. His surviving men used to proclaim "There's no Jack S. like our Jack S."
