Folks,

MG:

The boys of the "Mighty Eighth" and several very good friends pushed the battle right to Hitler's doorstep and then blew down the front door. That didn't happen without losses, terrible losses. The Brits bombed by night and the Yanks by day. Every time a B17 went down ten fine men were lost.

I like much of what our pal Phil Gray who was a Lanc pilot said about the Mossy being a better choice to bomb Germany in many ways. But I wasn't there. One shouldn't second guess those that were. Wouldn't it be fun though if there were a sim in which we could make that and other substitutions and play it out?

Regarding the air museum closing and the Lanc restoration project shutting down; C51 says he thinks there is a ground swell of irate public opinion already battering against those who made the decision to close the museum. He is hopeful some compromise can be worked out if there is enough public response to force it. He says there is to be a meeting of those who are working on the Lanc on Saturday.

Wish 'em luck folks.
