Interesting sequence JRT and well put together. He obviously meant to get his man and pranged his Spit in the process!
This should be after the Battle of Britain in a MkVb with pale blue ID fuselage band. Looks like green and sea-grey Spit camo but hard to tell which would make it around early '42. The oxygen mask has the chamois leather cover on the switch part which is extremely hard to get nowadays but correct for the Battle of Britain. Just the switch and cover alone runs at around $1000 and much more when attached to the mask.
He would have only encountered mass German bomber formations like that over Malta after the BoB.
Lots of CGI but that's the way it is going to be in historical re-enactment.
