Inspired by the beautiful traffic-blocking snowscape, I changed the batteries in the Nikon and took a few snaps. The local car park is virtually empty this morning after another six inches last night. I hear the sound of scraping shovels as I type. The main roads are generally clear, with care, but it is a struggle to get out of the secondary roads. The country lanes are blocked and impassable. If the wind picks up, we will certainly have something to moan about. Once out, you have the problem of returning to park where you were because the ploughs have piled up the snow against the parked cars and the kerb.
The kids are off school and are taking unaccustomed excercise on the sledging slopes while their X-Boxes and PS3s lie dormant at home.
