"Firehouse / Hollo Pointe Admin staff" (and common TS3 callsigns):
"ENO" (ENO) "tomcat", (TC) "USMC BEANS", (BEANS) "Molasses", (MOL) "Wrecking Crew", (CREW) "BeachAV8R", (BEACH) "XRay_Specs", (XRAY) "Wesley", (WESLEY) "9thAF_Rider", (RIDER) "EinsteinEP", (EINSTEIN) "raven", (RAVEN) "blindone", (BLIND) "Komemiute", (COMB) "Wheel", (WHEEL) "Sweetest" (SWEETY)
What is Eno's Firehouse?
The Firehouse Server opened around March of 2012 in an attempt to host a 24/7 dedicated DCS server. Using unique content from a variety of different mission builders, the Firehouse eventually moved to hosting content created by Eno. The server has been offline for a couple months and though back online intermittently is no longer 24/7. The server is monitored by a number of admins and by using SLMOD. TS3 is mandatory and while Eno does provide a TS3 channel, most enthusiasts from SimHQ use the SimHQ TS3 channel.
What is the Hollo Pointe?
The Hollo Pointe Server is a "cousin" server to the Firehouse and remains open and unlocked 24/7. It runs genuine content created by its host, Wrecking Crew as well as select others updated to current DCS versions. The server is monitored by a number of admins and by using SLMOD.
Who is Invited? Enthusiasts of the sim at all levels are invited to both servers, however we strongly recommend that you work through the tutorials for your aircraft of choice before joining. It is well known that regulars of the Firehouse and Hollo Pointe will do their best to help, but you have to demonstrate a willingness to help yourself as well. Team Killing, consensual and otherwise, is not tolerated.
Some of our regular members and their TAD numbers (NET Group ID 11 standard):
Wrecking Crew 11 tempusmurphy 13 Hamblue 14 XRay_Specs 17 (LOA) Gordo_Viper 22 Molasses 25 petethehatch 27 (MIA) Ste86 29 (MIA) The Bix 32 near_blind 33 Fridge 42 tomcat 44 Wheel 46 blindone 52 SkateZilla 62 komemiute 69 Sweetest 70 (LOA) Allizdog1000 74 (MIA) eno75 75 (LOA) NavyNuke99 76 (MIA) JimD 88 USMC BEANS 99
What's the thread all about?
The thread started as a bunch of regulars talking about all things A-10C and has since grown into a conduit for sim and server related news. Many of the regulars come in to share news about recent experiences, or help each other through hardware / software glitches. It's literally just grown into a discussion lounge, so please- feel free to contribute!
Hope to see you soon!

Looking forward to more mud-moving, rifle-calling, winder-dodging, spi-hooking, helo-JTACing, tanker-busting, ATC-worrying, tunguska-cursing fun in the Firehouse! See you all there!

Had a very good time on the server last night..really enjoyed it. Pretty damn cool putting the TGP on the target then seeing a couple other A-10s flit across the image on their runs. Many times I had the TGP on a target while setting up for a run only to see it blasted into oblivion by other pilots..cool to see!
I need to do more studying because I was unfamiliar (but didn't want to hog up the airwaves with tutorial time for me) with how to send and receive SPIs. I think I could see other people sending SPI on my TSD, but I wasn't sure how I could automatically get my TGP to slave to it. I'm familiar with making my own SPI..but not how to send or receive it. Gonna dig out the manual and do some reading today.
Always more to learn..
Anyway - fun stuff last night..

Looking forward to it skip!
X-ray... Don't forget "human-chaff converting!" Got the tacview video my friend... It's legit!
Beach! Dms left long command to broadcast your SPI to us. Hook the Lego triangle on the tad with TMS up short... The make it your own SPI with TMS up long... Then orientate sensors to it as you would other SPI... I move Soi over to tgp but may not have to... But then china hat forward long.
Guess what you'll be looking at... That's right! Someone else's SPI!
Need to be on the same group ID (which I might add is 11 as a standard)- and there you can also see who is broadcasting it.
Also want to mention- for finer aspects of the sim like that- people can ALWAYS ask the question. Doesn't take Any time at all to give the brief direction and guess what... It sticks!
Who am I kidding? I get an absolute thrill out of being able to help a guy when I can and having been involved with a great number of these guys in the past I know they get the same feel.
Okay- granted we don't want to walk you through a cold start mid-mission (though crew did that for me once and I'll never forget it- in riders of the storm, actually)- but if getting a minutes worth of instruction is going to change your game experience... Let it fly!
Perhaps crew can build on that lesson with how to transmit tasking orders!

What a way to start off the new thread... I owe everyone another tanker... I did get about 2,000lbs of fuel tonight... practice makes perfect!!! (Playground may need a restart ) Edit: You have the tacview Eno?! I've been on the edge of my seat waiting to see a fraps replay of that...!

You should have said something! I'll make it in the morning!
And about the tanker no worries- it's set up with tankage around the clock. Not sure when the next one will be on station but there's a whole flight line of tankers...
Speaking of which I've got a tacview video of a certain marine aviator cutting off a tanker and causing me to eat the green wiener- probably that very tanker- actually.

Nice tip, Beach! I'd heard something similiar from F4 refuelings but never thought to apply it to the Hog. Will have to try that out.

Was on for about an hour and a half this morning. Tooled around with dropping different munitions on the tank targets then headed offshore about 100 miles to hook up to the tanker. I only put on 25% fuel at base so that I'd be pretty dry by the time I got out there. Actually managed a fairly passable tankering and topped off the tanks with about a half a dozen disconnects. I'm getting better though.. I actually found a good trick that I had read about worked - set both throttles to a couple knots below the tanker speed, then use only the right throttle to make the fine adjustments while on the boom. I thought it would induce some funky yaw, but the power changes are so small that it really doesn't do much. I left the tanker unmolested...no flaming wreckage.. BeachAV8R i think i have such a huge curve on my CH stuff now, that pretty much emulates what you're doing with the warthog throttle. i ran with no curve and had so many issues with matching speed and doing fine adjustments, not to mention steering on take off roll. added an axis curve to everything (pitch, yaw, roll, and throttle) and she's ALOT easier to control.

Crew has a pretty nice throttle curve that I applied to my profile. Since then, formation and refuel ops have become much easier. I'm usually able now to take 4000lbs of fuel with only a couple of disconnects.

That is a good tip, Beach. blindone - I opened up your post and went Huh, again? 'cause I was putting in throttle curves last night - and I am still using these values. Easy to set them the same every time with this post reference - http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3347043/Pass_the_Grey_Poupon_please.html#Post3347043Spent a bunch of time last evening getting all three installs of DCS World up to date - have CA on all and will have FC3 on the main machine as soon as UPS gets here with a new LOMAC. raven's machine is ready for when he shows up tomorrow. The beer is in the fridge and the Thanksgiving Holiday has begun! WC

OKkkkay, Back To School is up.
Tried Thunder and xIT-Red - both crashed at about 30 minutes in... arrrg.
We had a whole bunch of people coming into xIT-Red - may be more than 10. Seems like a holiday!

No Black Shark yet but I will grab it tonight or tomorrow. Sunday is my birthday so I will make it clear to everyone that I am not to be disturbed and will be learning how to fly a KA50.

Thanks, Eno and Wreck for a great flight this evening. Really enjoyed it. I have been putting DCS on the back burner lately due to the poor performance and crashing with World, but your server was rock solid. The Ant mission was damn fun. The air start jets and short flight times were awesome as well.. Thanks!

Wild_Turkey! R3volution! Put that jet together! --- Lots of variety tonight - Winter in Back To School - Riders ot Storm - The levels of fog to clouds is nice in the new version - used to be steps of cloud density (GTX 680) - Ants played fine - stable all the way -

Sorry X-ray... didn't get that vid posted today but will tomorrow. Have loads of time.
Ants was a LOT of fun tonight and ran smooth throughout. No complaints on my end- that's for sure. We had a great group in for the duration... and I hope that it's a sign of things to come.
We seem to have narrowed down the crashes to particular AI aircraft either taking off or landing... Missions with few or no AI aircraft movements inbound or outbound seem to be stable while the ones with more than a couple crash.
Might make us limited in what we can run on the server until that bug is fixed- but regardless... I think we've got it figured out.
I've already changed the game_timeout setting that was causing us issues at loadup (as far as I can tell) and having identified this other issue... I think we're on the right track.
