Regarding Jens mentioning the Halifax - the only example that can be claimed as restored to original state, apart from the main u/c castings, is a Mk VII NA337 which resides in a Canadian museum.
There is a salvaged airframe on display at Hendon and the one at the York Air Museum is only a partial restoration because it includes the wings of a Hastings and parts from different types of aircraft. Nevertheless, it looks impressive and convincing.

The Halifax and the Stirling have always come up short in the fame stakes when compared to the Lancaster, dropping 255.000 long tons between them (a valuable contribution to the allied bombing campaign) against a massive 608.000 of the Lanc.
