Folks: I also remember the glories of hearing the "victrola" as we called it. It sat, taller than I at the time, in the living room of the house. It was well used for parties. Another export from you side of the pond you should be proud of is the quality of British shows presented here, mostly on PBS. I'm not talking about Downton Abbey series but the other comedies and dramas that take up, frankly, too much of my time. I hear the MI-5 series may have a movie coming soon?
