Last Sundays trip took us to Sleap Farm somewere in or near Shropshire. The farmer had graciously allowed birders to trudge over his fields to the trodden down patch seen herewith. A plastic bucket was placed close to the parking area upon which was a notice inviting one to donate a small sum for charity. Fair enough. I wondered if this was the same Charity who worked as barmaid at the Prince and Polecat until Olga found out?
The two Common Cranes - Grus grus - are at a fair distance, about 400 yards, so photography was out although I did try but it came out blurred. No - I am not on this one either. C51 may readily identify them in Gaelic as Corra-mhonaidh.
