The passing of many years have dimmed the memory in respect of my Great War experiences but I can state quite categorically that despite what was portrayed in that Red Baron screen romp, Richtofen and Brown never jumped up and down on the same woman.
Incidentally, in addition to the Victoria Cross, Brown received the Distinguished Service Cross and Bar which was applicable to a Royal Naval Air Service pilot. Whether or not he shot down Richtofen, he was a very capable and courageous pilot who looked after his charges.
