So very glad to hear you and your neighbors were spared. It is our turn now and into tomorrow. I am far more concerned for our friend on the sound near Morehead City than for us. He usually rides these storms out on the third floor of his big house.

My idiot son once spent 30 minutes on the observation deck. Yes, as you no doubt suspect, he was well fortified with beer at the time. He was fine while braced against the teeth of the storm but nearly broke his fool neck going down all those stairs.

He told me he'd like to be down there for this storm. He is older and wiser now. I noticed he did not go.
