Folks,
Fittop:

Glad you're still at least afloat and able to type. From your upbeat text I'd say it is not yet time to fit the family car with an outboard motor or the dog with pontoons. It is not yet bad enough to teach the cat to use the surfboard. That is good. According to my local prognosticators and those on the CBS news your current weather is not associated with Patricia.

That particular delight you can look forward to tomorrow and Sunday as the remnants of the huge storm that can make it through the mountains head your way. Yes, expect some heavy rain of Biblical proportions. In fact, you are probably gonna need to run, drive or paddle right out to the closest hardware store and buy a garbage can sized rain gauge for this event.

Be careful what you wish for my friend. It wasn't too long you were wishing for precipitation. Perhaps you misjudged how good your connection to the 'bringer of rain' actually was? It shouldn't be as much a wind event as a rain/mudslide/ row, row, row your boat event for the great state of Texas. Nothing much is coming out of Mexico for a change. We'll be able to get a first peak at what is left tomorrow morning. The monster has come inland and weakened a bit to around 130 mph at the last advisory. That still packs quite a punch.

Keep us informed. A word of caution. If during the wee hours the family dog, who has been locked inside for several hours, comes up stairs tracking muddy footy prints and and then shakes dirty water all over you and the bed..... that sir is probably a very bad sign. Good luck to you and yours.
