Trearddur Bay and Porthdafarch are indeed popular for Scuba although I did a lot of snorkeling and spearfishing in those days. It takes a long time for those coastal waters to warm up a bit - around June/July. It doesn't last long either. There some dodgy currents around Rhosneigr but that place has been swamped by windsurfers. Still a nice place to visit though with the added interest of flying from RAF Valley.
