The concentration of air activity over Lincolnshire some 65 years ago must have been immense. Surely, it would have barely been possible to walk out and not hear the sound of aero engines from one direction or the other and probably several directions at the same time! Likewise, the crash sites must have run into many hundreds as the war years drew to a close.
