Folks,

We have before us yet another warm and sultry day in Dixie. The lazy, hazy days of summer linger on. The mornings are bright punctuated by cheerful bird song. During the day the puffy, white clouds of August roll by and we know by the song of the Cicada in the evening and the dwindling days of August on the calendar that fall is but a few weeks away. I look forward to the coming of our colorful fall.

I hope that tropical disturbance that should have died in Mexico but lingered on to cross into an area favorable to it with the possibility of growing in intensity to threaten Texas fails to do so. We had one that refused to die. It came in, went out, turned around and hit us. A hurricane is an unpredictable and dangerous blow hard. We'll likely see more here in the Atlantic before the end of November.
