It rather shows what stage my life is at right now. With three under six in the house remembering such things is a challenge, I must say.
It is my understanding that the holiday had pretty much died out in Britain (shame on you). It was not observed in England until after WW2 when it was brought back due to the influence of American soldiers stationed there during the war.
