SNAFU:

Athletes, even good ones often have more brawn than brain. A good education does not automatically make you wise. The glitz, glamor and cash of professional sports have led so many astray. Even worse off are those who are lured away before they finish their education.

Thank you for your concern and for asking about our son. He has had some additional problems with his ulcers and the vagaries of life in general but everything medically at least seems to be under control at the moment.

He starts a new job with a new land survey company on Monday. He gets quite a raise in pay and with a bit less responsibility into the bargain. A lucky break. That isn't the way it usually goes is it? All that should help.

Our weather has been excellent lately. Everything is green now and there are blooms all around us. The azaleas and dogwoods are in full bloom and the little grove of trees around our home is just hanging full with sweet-smelling wisteria blossoms. I think the delightful aroma is like the scent of fine baby powder. Perfect weather for serious hammock testing.

We are expecting some rain tomorrow and cooler temps for the weekend here as well. We have 4 new kittens and sweet summer is on the way.

Congratulations on picking out that new car. With the price of gas as high as it has been lately and your long commute to work that must have been a consideration? There is nothing like tooling down the highway in a new car to get your spirits up.

I complain even though I know that our comrades in Britain and Europe have long been burdened with higher gas prices than we have even now. Everything is always relative.
