So glad nobody's husband has shot you old man. Wales is warming up, is it? LOL. A versatile actor was old Jack, apparently with a good sense of humor. He joined the Royal Welsh Fusiliers in 1940, was commissioned and served with the second British Division in India. I believe he was a colonel. He was married to Jessica Tandy famous for many roles herself including "Driving Miss Daisy". He was a heavy smoker. Well known actor especially for 3 appearing in three Best Picture Academy Award winners, "The Bridge on the River Kwai", "Ben-Hur", and Lawrence of Arabia". He claimed in his autobiography that he was not typecast as he had played less military roles than John Mills or Trevor Howard and even Richard Attenborough. He was in fact awarded the CBE in the 50s. I believe he had an artificial voice box surgically implanted shortly before his death.
