Yep we're a pretty patient bunch. However that being said be sure to get into TS3 to see what's going on, helping people in chat while flying a mission is a massive pain in the butt.
I would also recommend at least going through the basic training missions and knowing the basics of flight and takeoff/landing by eye. We can teach systems and maneuvers but the feeling of sim flight just takes practice, not technical instruction.
