I've been running into issues, too, but I was able to run Back To School briefly this morning from Hollo Pointe.
One issue has to do with Windows 8 and Teamviewer - when I TV into the Hollo Pointe server I can start the DCS Multiplayer w/o any problem. But when I start the DCS World (like in order to use the Mission Editor) the screen will not display the DCS World program - I just get a blue circle 'wait' cursor. I have to fiddle with Teamviewer Charms and Single Window menu items before the DCS World screen will display properly - and that doesn't always happen! I've sent numerous emails to Teamviewer about this problem - they take a looong time to reply and in their last email some new person asked for screenshots - well I already told them where they can dl DCS World for free and see it for themselves.
For some reason the Hollo Pointe fresh install did not go well. When I first tried to run the new .exe to install the update I got a failed message about having modded the program (Slmod?). I backed out the Slmod changes but still got that message. I had to uninstall DCS World before I could run the full update. I like running the full updates vs a patch for major version changes.
After I did get the install done on the server, when I went into the MP and tried to run a mission I'd get a DCS Stopped Working message. I wondered if this was because I had not saved the mission in v1.2.3 - but that was not it. I did see that from MP Options I could not see any choices for Connection Speed - the drop down list was empty.
So last night I uninstalled again and reinstalled. I did not remove the Program Files' DCS World directories or the <user.\Saved Games\DCS directories - I just did the Control Panel uninstall. Then I tried to start the DCS World program and ran into the Teamviewer screen issue and gave up again - for another night.
Oh yeah, I rebooted the server and could not get back into it and had to call my dad in law to power cycle it :-(
This morning I opened the server in TV and could see on the desktop that three instances of DCS World had been opened up. So I killed those instances and started DCS Multiplayer - this morning I could see the Connection Speed options in the drop down list and was finally able to put up Back To School, which I'd saved under v1.2.3.
Tonight or tomorrow I will get the Render3D set to False and put Slmod back in place and should be back up and running.

Last night I also did the install on my home machine - again using the full download. I got the same odd failed message about having modded the files but I had not modded anything on the home machine. I uninstalled and then installed the full new version and that went OK. After saving Back To School in the new version I could host it in MP from the home machine so that gave me hope that I could get the server to work, too - I was beginning to think I was going to have to haul the server back home to work on it.
