Flew Eno's Killbox in the UH-1H today. Today was the first day of fighting in the Huey for me.
Today was predawn raid on Convoys resupplying forces surrounding Anapa. I made it to the target area and in the twilight lit up a convoy killing a Shilka in the first pass and the Strela in the second... I pretty much fought from the drivers seat using the rudder to aim and fire. All in all I shot 12 of the 14 rockets and had 2600 rounds of 7.62 when I returned to base. I netted 2 air defense and 4 trucks... I also killed the jeeps but it didn't give me credit for those... there was two.
The next leg of the mission after rearm didn't go as well it was a little bit lighter outside and on my way in to the target a Shilka got a suprise burst in and killed the entire crew except the pilot... I did manage to inflict some major damage to an artilary convoy though.
The Master caution came on and gave me a Xmsn Oil pressure light. From the pics you can see why... look at the oil slick the crewcheif has to clean up.
