On my end I just like to be able to provide unique missions for the folks that come on my server... If everyone is just canning up missions that other people create- why would anyone come to the firehouse? Certainly, we have a really great crowd of folks and I think that in itself is one good reason that people come out- however there is a lot that goes into maintaining a server, not to mention the costs associated with the plan that gives me the upload bandwidth that I need to ensure a smooth experience for the clients... I like to see butts in the seats and I think having custom missions helps add to that.
So maybe it's just me hanging onto old habits- and now isn't really a great time to start trying to justify things because the MP stability up until recent patches has been a miserable companion- but I want to try and give enthusiasts a different mission to fly when they come in... Unfortunately, even that hasn't really helped lately since just about every mission made is broken on just about every patch... so then I'm forced to run the "old faithfuls" so often that suddenly it's not a unique experience anymore.
Anyway Snipor- some people understand and others don't... but that's my process.
