Well , I botched up that flight. As newly appointed Section Leader. I took my 3 a/c up on a Defensive Patrol . I wanted to impress the Chaps so took I them more to the East of the sector and sure enough there were 4 e/a about 1200 ft below us off to the North. I waived to my chaps for them to stay tight and dove on the e/a. Unfortunately, the e/a were 2500ft below us and were scattering. I over shot the enemy flight so did a reversal to get back into it. Twist and turn, Someone got a e/a because I almost flew into a Wing marked with a German Cross. Spotted one below and missed then he turned and I shot right pass. By then I was too far into enemy land and low so RTB. On the up side, the chaps got 1 e/a and we all made it back.
