Star Trek: Into Darkness (2013) and Star Trek: Beyond (2016) – finishing the “rebooted” trilogy.
We liked “Into Darkness (2013)”. It carried on the story of People of various backgrounds, beliefs, genders, and species learning to work together regardless of their differences. It showed the development in Kirk, Spock, and others as persons.
We hoped that story of “people” growing together would be carried on in "Beyond (2016)". It was, to an extent. The downside for us were the excessive, cartoonish extremes (shattering the laws of physics, logic, and probability) during action scenes. On the whole it was a mediocre movie that “left the script” – but, not so bad we were sorry we watched it in the comfort of home.
Star Trek: ?? (2023) is coming next in 2023. No further solid information on-line.
