Good post DM but it does beg the question: Would a 100% or nearly 100% faithful adaptation of the Foundation Trilogy be interesting for modern audiences to watch? I understand how the concept of psychohistory worked in the books but would something so purely mathematical and analytical work in a dramatized series?
The original trilogy, maybe not. But Asimov did write 3 other books that fit as a prequel, and in between the other books. It also tied it into the series with Caves of Steel. Added a bunch of psychics that monitored things to keep on track. It turned the series a bit weird, but that would probably work better for modern audiences.
