One of them was The Hunt for Red October. Great movie, but my DVD is a piece of crap. Very low quality and it only uses about half of my TVs screen. I should really replace it.
Another was Master and Commander. Too bad it tanked as they did a good job of sticking to the spirit of the books and I wish they could have made a few more. The great soundtrack is an added bonus.
HFRO is the only Tom Clancy film that I consider to be a classic and I've really lost count on how many times I've seen it. If you get the film on bluray you should listen to the audio commentary by John McTiernan. He makes some very interesting comments about the making of the film.
Master & Commander is another classic but the subject matter doomed it with the mainstream multiplex audiences. There's NO way a naval warfare film set during the Napoleonic era was going to have wide appeal.
