Yesterday, we had a little emergency. As we entered holding, Master Warning panel lit-up saying oxygen supply system failed. IP couldn't breath so we had to abort and return to base. Not very exiting at all...
LOL..I just instinctively put all "emergency" comments in bold and in red in my own mind. Too many years in the sim..
EJECTION HANDLE - PULL
Upcoming weekend folks in my flight are planning cross-country. We plan to fly out in the evening of Friday for about 200 miles and spend night at some airport. Next day we will shoot approaches to as many foreign fields as possible and refuel somewhere. Sunday we will return to home base. Goal is to get training in unfamiliar fields. Also we will have consideration of approach so that their head will not explode if all of us arrive to a same field.
Today I had formation flight after almost 30 days break in category. Interesting exercise we did was "Blind-X" Two jets turn 90 degrees from each other, deconflict altitude and turn into each other to rejoin. That was extremely fun as it gave a bit idea of what fighting vs each other does. 200+ knots going head-on and staring to turn into each other. I can see how head-on shooting can be almost pointless unless it's a slow target.
For now, I'm busy flying instrument and doing sims for instruments. Since there is no auto-pilot and guy in the back is there only for safety, it's a bit tricky. Especially if you are doing three different approaches such as VOR/DME, climbout to ILS, climbout to GPS or such. I'm not finding instruments fun at all.
