I finally picked this up since it's on sale at the mo.
And I didn't like it at all. So I come seeking assurances I guess. But that isn't something others can give me really, because folks like Panzer obviously loved it. Nimrud is a Steam friend, we've been racing together for years. So I see which games he plays, and there are very few games he spends a ton of time in, but surprisingly Elden Ring really got its hooks in him, which surprised me and made me think maybe I would like it too.
All I've done is character creation (samurai) and the tutorial. I don't like the messages players are leaving. "Prepare". "Hard Foe Ahead". "Good Luck". Probably can be disabled, but what else would I lose. I can just ignore them too but they are all over the place. Maybe it's just a tutorial thing. At least fifty of them just in the little tutorial. The blood stains. What are they showing me, how another player died? Yeah, I don't want any of this stuff in my game.
And then I got to the tutorial boss and got smoked. Controls are more than awkward. Shift is dodge? Hopeless. Did you guys play with mouse and keyboard or controller? I dislike too that I have to unhook my racing gear to play.
I'm 48 minutes in and still can refund. I've only ever refunded two Steam games since 2006. This stuff is subjective, and obviously others absolutely adore this game. Any thoughts?
