Meh.. They act like nobody has been able to release a game on new hardware.
Yes ...but how many simulations have been released which are completely new?
The DCS series was supposed to see a new release every 9 months...
RoF took longer to develop than expected, had serious bugs, a DRM scheme that made the forums battlegrounds, and only had two flyable aircraft for the first nine-months or so...
The TD patches were supposed to be released every 3-4 months with 4.12 out near the beginning of last year (if I recall correctly)...
As for Jet Thunder...
The problem is that flight simulators represent complex dynamical systems - which have an exponential growth in bugs relative to a linear growth in code complexity. This means that comparisons with those FPS, RTS & RPGs that use generic/highly derivative game dynamics isn't really appropriate...
As for the graphics - it shouldn't be surprising that the engines take time to develop given that their rendering environments are so different from FPS & PRG games (which makes for inexperienced programmers) and that they have to efficiently free up resources for the underlying game-world computations (unlike dedicated visualisation software). So, from a technical perspective at least, these simulators really aren't games anymore.
