Well he doesn't have to be prevented from talking, ie killed, just discredited. Which he has been to a large degree, which is why most people don't believe him.
And it's not that I believe him either, I'm just yet to hear any proof that he is either lying or not lying. Proof, courtroom type proof. Either way.
Proving his story as true is a much higher harder bar to cross than proving him to be a charlatan. So it's not really surprising that he hasn't proven his story, it is however a little bit surprising that he hasn't been exposed as a proven fake after all these years. That's what, to me, leaves me open minded about his story. He's likely a fake, but he's not a proven fake. So the intrigue remains.

Yeah I can see that F4. But I'm rather less inclined to do that nowadays, there's just so much of it. I don't think anyone has to prove him wrong, anything presented without evidence can be dismissed without evidence. (Paraphrase of a good ol' Hitchslap )

I'm still waiting for that Day the Earth stood still moment, and the reality of that moment might be why this is a closely guarded secret that the Powers that Be don't want you to even consider talking about. Of all the crazy beliefs that people have clung to why is this one something that the Gov't will send men in Black suits to interrogate you for and possibly threaten you over, Hmm? Think about that for a second.

Agreed.
The problem I have with the alien cover-up conspiracy is that it would require so many people. A lot of people.
People can’t keep secrets that well.
Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.
Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

People can’t keep secrets that well. It depends on what the consequences are for divulging the secrets. Lazar has said he wishes he had kept his mouth shut so he could have stayed in the job. And assuming he is being truthful he has paid a price for talking that most would want to avoid, he's not gotten wealthy with his story. Also consider that there are thousands of military pilots, navy sub vets etc would keep secrets. NDA's are signed every day, most I would suspect are honored.

People can’t keep secrets that well. And they haven't, the problem is they are made to sound foolish, they are ridiculed and in the case of Lazar their histories erased enough to look like he's just making it up. His story never changed but certain facts like an element that didn't exist at the time at least in a stable form actually does but we haven't the technological knowhow to make it feasible. I think Lazar is telling the truth, it hasn't made him any money, he says now it wrecked his life and he sometimes regrets it but he has never said "look I made it all up, leave me alone" but either he is a genius liar he made up a story so detailed with names dates and locations and convinced long time friends to say yeah he took us out to the desert where we saw something that was not a normal aircraft and they haven't wavered in their recollections or something he saw was so astounding, so important he could not keep it to himself. There's a program about UFO's Down Under in a country with vast territories cattle farmers come forward with mutilation stories, people who are common down to earth types with stories of things they have seen that they know aren't Helicopters or Military Aircraft, Videos of object darting around at High Speed and stopping or changing direction in ways that are impossible for anybody to survive. There are a lot of mysteries and few explanations, and where experts cannot give a reasonable answer that doesn't sound stupid to most people with common sense and education or they immediately try to blow it off without a second thought. This many years past Roswell and it has not relented, more and more people are coming forward, some in their twilight years figuring now there is no punishment coming for saying it is pretty compelling. Look at the World Today, can we handle the Truth?

Funny because I would consider believing something exists when we have no solid scientific proof to back up such existence to be ignorant. Do you believe in God Panzer? A lot of folks here do. Are the people here that believe in God ignorant because there is no solid scientific proof that God exists?

People can’t keep secrets that well. People can keep secrets with the proper incentive, blackmail, holding family members accountable, reputational destruction, and dying under strange circumstances are some examples.

As I've said before, if aliens are coming to Earth, it's a global event, not just the US, and the US can't control everyone in every country. The visits would have to be so specific or so limited that only a few people could know about them, so either it was a one-time event or the aliens are coordinating with governments, perhaps even specific governments. In either case, all of the sightings would seem to be unrelated to that reality because either they're too common or not coordinated, which undermines their value as evidence.
As for Lazar, I haven't looked into him in a while, but last I did, he didn't sound that convincing to me, and I've seen too many articles that provide information that can't be verified and other unsupported assertions being presented as facts that unless I do the digging myself, I'm not confident they're being objective. He says it's ruined his life so why would he have made it up, but it's possible that he didn't expect it to ruin his life when he made it up and now he's sticking with it. Or maybe he's actually working for the government to provide a cover for covert programs and is actually quite happy. When you get into conspiracy theories, how deep is too deep?
