I presume the point here is to demonstrate the computer controlled steady muzzle, which puzzles me mildly, as I would think what would be wanted was a steady bead on the horizon, which you would think would result in some pretty violent vertical adjustments to match the lurching of the vertical position of the breech.

Not bead on the horizon, stabilized on the target. The target is separate from the movement of the tank. Stabilization tries to create shooting from stationary. The trick is reloading which is a break in the stabilization.
