Also Did you guy noticed they are doing not only a new Ultima Underworld but also a new System Shock?
New School? Harder for me...
Mass Effect the first. I simply loved it- Amazing.
Skyrim blew me away as a whole but sadly I ruined it with too many mods and never finished- I simply had to restart from scratch and lost too much time on it. One day maybe.
Fallout 3 was really good but I simply lost my train of thought- so to speak. I should restart.
Can I drop here Batman Arkham Asylum and City only? To me it WAS being Batman. Brilliant.
Aaaand- Yes I'm going to take flak for it... The Elite series- Dangerous inlcuded. That to me IS BEING a space commander.
I can really see room for improvement but so far the experience has been epic.

Yep. Old school. Those old SSI D&D games? I remember playing them on my old (well back then it was new) 386 black and white laptop with a 10 inch screen. There was one that was part of a series with Eye of the Beholder being one of them and Pool of Radiance being the other. Can't no longer remember the titles of the rest. And also IMO, FF VII on Sony Playstation 1 and the Lunar series on the Sega were the best RPG I ever played. Eye of the Beholder and Pool of Radiance had their own series, and Pool of Radiance was part of the Gold Box games. You're probably thinking of the Curse of the Azure Bonds or the Secret of the Silver Blades, sequels to the Pool of Radiance. Yes, those 2. I had those too.

I like that list. I'll add Fable, the first. It wasn't quite as much as promised, and not a fully open world, but it was extremely immersive and added character development in new ways beyond the norm at the time. I'll swap ME2 for Red Dead Redemption. The perfect Western RPG, covering all ages of the movies.

Never really liked the RPG genre, but Mass Effect was my Gateway Drug. Maybe the Sci-Fi environment resonated more than the Sword and Sorcery D&D world, but from Mass Effect, I went on to The Witcher and loved it. Started Witcher 2 and was loving it until I just lost interest in grinding out the puzzles. Have to get back to it so I can justify eventual purchase of Witcher 3.
Started Fallout 3 and was liking it but got bogged down.
Started Neverwinter Nights and was liking it but got bogged down
Started Dragon Age Origins (wait for it....) and was liking it but got bogged down.
Gothic 2 Gold game HIGHLY recommended by someone I trust, so maybe that will be the D&D style game that keeps my interest.
I OWN lots of RPG from GOG/STEAM sales including most of TES titles...but time is against me!
