Why not, Troop? That T34 vid looks good... As a supplement to planes it might turn a positive way...

Of course they have to add tanks. Not many more people will buy into BoM as a flight sim... at least enough to make the FS product sustainable.

I'm kind of interested.Of the 10 games I currently have installed,6 of them feature tanks.I'll see how things develop but I'm not keen to give any more money to these guys.
If you watch Jaws backwards, it's a heart warming story about a shark that spits out so many people that they have to open a beach.

If it takes valuable time, people, and effort away from the ''Flight sim'' we would like this to be, then I'm not for it... We are told many times they are a small team, and they don't have massive resources... Yes the video looked good, but if this diverts manpower away from the main goal of producing aircraft?

I certainly have no inside knowledge, but how can it not? I would think any time used by the small development team for the tanks would be taking at least some resources away, but that is of course conjecture on my part as well. Interesting that they are going down this path...

This should be the future of most combat flight sims. It will bring in far more money, which will allow for larger, more productive development teams. The flight sim market is currently way to small to generate the monies needed. That said computer systems will also have to be more powerful to allow for the kind of accurate detail most people in the BOS, and COD forums want.

It's too late to worry about diverted ressources. As far as I know the driveable tanks exist for quite some time now. I had seen the first screenshots a year ago in the Russian forum. I am just surprised that the official announcement did not come earlier.

The tanks will add more to gameplay and will be used be more players than a begged flyable Ju-52.

With what was delivered in BoS, I feel a lack of confidence in the developer and would only rationalize a purchase after a deep discount. The market is small, but the answer isn't to ratchet up prices. Anyone that accepts that as an "Okay" practice, then I have a load of homeopathic cures to sell you for all sorts of ailments!

DCS did drive able ground vehicles well for a fs. Then again DCS's Combined Arms plays more like a strategy with ground and air than just driving vehicles.
Again I ask though, why are people saying the team is small and lack resources? How do you know? There is no budget info. And 1c is not a tiny producer. It seems like an excuse to keep falling back when something does not happen, or when when what happens is underwhelming.

A driveable tanks, was this not the same in Clod and Clod players ever used this gadget? In CloD - like many, many others things - tanks is a unfinished feature, was enable be Team Fusion latter. But is not straightforward to access, lack detailed interiors, and "Luthiers Patchs" broken the road paths - AI vehicles can't use roads, and bridges are broken and not fix since the release. Despite all this drawback people use tanks in multiplayer, some ATAG missions has tanks for players. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HSeeAphBxQIMany old il-2'46 players don't like WT planes, but enjoy his (Pay2win) tanks. Actually drivable tanks is a desirable feature in WW flight sim (or as Loft say GAME). Like has in DCSW, WT, Aces High, Warbirds Online, Battleground Europe... IMO - BoS design has many bad decisions, but tanks is not one these.

It would take a heck of a lot more than a tank to get me to consider firing up BOS again after all these months. I am just tired of the attitudes by both the devs and their core supporters toward anyone that does not sing their praises, while allowing their core group to slam anyone that might dare to ask a question that may have some semblance of being critical.
As much as I liked PWCG for ROF, I am not even sure now that having it available for BOS would do it for me. Very close to just uninstalling it at this point. Honestly I am so impressed now that Edge is here for DCS and spending all of my time with it, don't feel the need for anything else at this time.
I don't care for their leadership, business practices, or how they treat the customers. Don't know that I could ever throw my money their way again.

Russians sometimes do silly things, like putting in a lot of efforts in "nice to have" things and forget to get the major gameparts where people actually do buy a sim for. OK, I'm not the game marketing expert, so lets hope this will bring in more players, only I'm not sure on this "nice to have" gadget.

I think this will water down 777's flight sim genre.
If they didn't provide a real campaign in BoS because the information collected by RoF's LOG-IN feature indicated that many players didn't use the RoF campaign, then how can we be sure that BoS/BoM's collected metrics won't change future features in BoS/BoM because they measure how many people use the tanks instead of planes. Couldn't that determine future development design - possibly even meaning not providing less wanted planes (or theatres) or a change in focus to combined combat games as opposed to strictly flight simming?
EDIT: Frankly, I see this happening because BoM isn't possibly selling as well as they hoped. Back a year and a half ago they displayed the lighting system (in a DD) by driving a tank around the field. We were pre-warned that MANNED tanks were not something to be offered and asking for them would fall on proverbial deaf ears. Now, 1.5 years later we are offered tanks. It can only be to add more buyers to the BoM game.
Makes me wonder about PWCG too. We were told that this was gong to be almost impossible to do and that Pat wasn't interested at all. Now just a scant few months after announcing work was being done to implement PWCG (with Pat included if I remember right) we have a BETA version of PWCG.
Desperate times require desperate measures? Eh.... maybe I'm full of crap... but this is how it looks to me.

Guys... sometimes a cigar is just a cigar... Maybe Pat Wilson just changed his mind... and maybe after working on BoM they just reached a point in the sim's development where it was not a stretch to implement this feature which has been in the engine from the beginning.
I am waiting for the obligatory eventual response from someone...
