I was playing around with the included tutorial "To the Mun, Part 1" and I got the spacecraft into orbit around the Mun but I cannot figure out how to move a Kerbal from the launch capsule to the lunar lander.

Mouse over the kerbal, hit EVA, hit R to toggle the jets, and fly over to the entry of the lunar lander and press E

The EVA rocket pack is ridiculously hard to control. How is one supposed to control pitch? I can translate forward and backward, roll left and right about the vertical axis but I can't pitch forward or back.
