Just checked out Gunter Hoffman's website - the news block says he is no longer producing Simpeds due financial, technical and personal reasons. That's a shame...

Strangely, in the store page, along with the usual apology, there is a picture of Simped model that I have never seen before. It appears to be made out of mostly aluminum and 109G style break pedals. The file name is 'SIMPED-A10-EVO.jpg'. Hmm....

There might be new ones. Previously, there was a request on the shop main page, asking for customer feedback/wishes for a new Simped model. I sent an email and also got a nice reply, which mentioned already a production stop.

The picture must be of the new model (at least a prototype), the email mentioned reworked parts in aluminium and new footrests, as well as some adjustment possibility, reworked electronics. Also, release won't be before August/September 2012, and they might not be as "cheap" as the old ones. Hopefully, that's not definitive yet.

However, the text on the shop homepage has me a bit worried. It mentions a production stop of Simped pedals, which is somewhat ambiguous. Does he just mean the old models, or does he write about "all" Simpeds?

I panicked and ordered a set when I read the dhs page, haven't got an order confirmation as of now. The text - to me - sounds much rather like a "going out of business message" than him being back in a few weeks with new models. Guess we'll see.

I tried to order another set of SIMPED rudder pedals a year or two ago. I got an email from the son that said his father had passed away. It looked like they were going to go out of business. He was only selling the stock that they had remaining at that point. My old rudder pedals still work great after 7-8 years of use. I wanted the second set for another PC.
