What a glorious slideshow flying over London will be on my PC. biggrin Looks great, can't wait. thumbsup

I refuse to buy a flight sim that I have no interest in playing, on the off chance that MAYBE someday they'll make the one I really want to play.

So, I see how this same broken record is going to be played for some time:

-Poster 1: "here's the new dev update from Oleg / promo video."

-Within 10 replies of the initial post: "Yeah, looks OK, but if they did things like WoP does, it would look a lot better."

...and on and on.

nice to see your level of ignorance and lack of flightsim experience expressed so clearly.

as being one of the aliases tree uses around here, the content of your post is not surprising either

WoP no matter how "nice" it looks to the console generation has a very dumbded down flight model and aircraft behavior, trying to pretend otherwise is foolish or deliberately misleading

What is it with some people? Say one kind word about WOP and some on this board respond with vitriol. Unbelieveable. There are some really insecure people here, insecure because they are possessed wtih DOUBT, despite denials, that COD just might not be better visually than WOP. If that turns out to be the case, the WOP-haters/COD-fanboys, full of rage, will commit mass suicide. My God, can't we all eagerly await the arrival of COD and still like WOP?

It doesn't take much to set things off around here. AKA, this forum has a lot of 'grenades.' biggrin

Grenade

Quote:
Grenade isn't actually a Warrior, per se, but it's an ordnance so widely employed that no Flame Warriors guide would be complete without mentioning it. When lobbed into a discussion forum Grenade instantly blasts civil discourse into smoking rubble. Grenade's explosive content can be adjusted to the forum's interests. Typical detonating materials can be Bill Clinton, George Bush, gun control, homosexuality, Reagan, abortion, taxes, conspiracy theory, the NEA, welfare reform, etc. When facing certain defeat a Warrior can stall even the most determined attack with a diversionary explosion. Grenade can bea particularly destructive weapon in the hands of Evil Clown, Issues, Troglodyte or even Weenie, but almost any Warrior can use it to gain a temporary strategic advantage. Eagle Scout has been known to throw himself upon Grenade to save the forum.

Never understood the constant negativity. We all know there will be growing pains, but the future is too bright, to burn the sim over a few delayed features. Yes its costly to build a system to play these complex games, but an initial investment of 50 bucks isn't much to help insure another ten years or more of decent combat flight sim gaming.

Just had time to view these, fantastic, I must say! I mean if one was to be picky, you'd have thought the .tga generating effects for smoke would have bee upgraded, but that's being picky. Can't wait to see the users videos post-release.
Awesome work by Biltongbru as well.

Just mute the 1st film and let the auto run from the 2nd.

I find it kind of funny that the dreams of me dieing flying are some of the best I have ever had thank you Oleg. The love for your work shines threw again. I wish more people had the passion you do for what they make.

Am I right assuming you mean it the other way around? Mute the 2nd and watch the first, right?

I can only say that no one beta tester is not able to master the direct export of the track in the video embedded in a game that allows you to get just the perfect picture on the highest setting ... Therefore, they use FRAPS, which itself retarding the game.
I do not know why ... There all Leko and just ... The main thing that stood codecs on your computer. Colors in the video - stylized faded old movie. In fact, they are different.

3. Water and did not have time to change, with only one graphics programmer in the team. Yes, dominant visible tile. As well as not altered by finishing water effects in ships. Physically, no time And it's the only thing that is really not so simpotnaya.

Finally I want to say for everyone to get everything 100% better than all ...
1. Would you like a sharp ground at such a distance as shown in the video - buy the complex, which will be available after 5 years. Otherwise is 0 FPS in that visibility, that is in the game. Asked the visibility range to 100 km in good weather - get it.

2. It's all the same flight simulator. Therefore, the emphasis on them. Will not find it. Somehow, nobody paid attention to how the bomb dropped by a group, consistently, the choice of ... But in the video is clearly shown.

That clears up a lot of the questions I had. It's good to see that they acknowledge the current flaws and hopefully are working on fixing them. Wish they had done it in an international forum, though. Still better than "we can't show you too much for fear of competition" Only sad thing is that apparently some interesting stuff was cut in order to make it playable. Well maybe in five years or so we'll see it really shine. If Il-2 is any indication it could have unlimited potential.

Hmm.. it's not IL-2 .. it's "MS Train Simulator, 1940" - IIRC, that thing didn't have people in it either ... biggrin

Reading some of Oleg's remarks on youtube about people's PCs being too slow doesn't exactly fill me with confidence .. even though my system should be well within "recommended" system-specs.

Oh well: Might as well postpone the whining for 10 more days, when Amazon hopefully will have delivered ...

Hello

Today i read in Youtube that Oleg confirm that looks that someone has realize that ships makes evasive manouvers.

Maybe you already has discuss or find it.

If you take a look into the video, while the Stuka are diving, the ships change their course.

Finally a interesting AI for ships.

The mission builder can program that... but yes I hope ships and vehicles have hard-coded defensive AI

Maybe the ME has triggers, that will be SeeStukasClose(Zig-Zag) very good
