All alone at 25,000ft. After running the gauntlet of Allied escort fighters, he and his Fw-190A-8/R2 are all that remain to intercept the vaunted B-17 and B-24 heavy bomber formations. Numbering twelve strong only minutes before, this lone German pilot and his heavy fighter face long odds as he finds his true targets. Regardless of the numbers involved against him and knowing the countless number of machine guns surely to be pointed his direction, he continues... Against All Odds

A real tribute to the brave Luftwaffe guys and the unbelievable odds they went up against in those days. It makes me think about te words of Gnther Rall which were something like this: The Allied pilots had it easy in this regard; they did a tour of duty and could go home. We on the other hand had to go on and on. We had to guard a frontline that stretched from Norway to Africa and the odds were staggering in the last years. There were two possibilities; either you ended up with a wooden cross or a iron cross, there was nothing in between.
I must say that the composition, the stunning background and the lighting of the aircraft bares resemblance to Shigeo Koikes art, Graf and that is meant as a true compliment!

Many thanks guys. I will say this shot was more about the drama and the odds facing each and every Luftwaffe pilot on every front. Nothing really spectacular or new to how I did it. For once something I imagined came out almost as good as I saw it in my thoughts.

A very, very well-executed and exemplary piece there Graf. Just a few suggestions, if I may: first of all, the bombers could have been just a bit more visible and second, it would have been nice if you'd fixed the model imperfection at the port wingtip of the foreground aircraft.
