The original Predator film is a sci-fi classic that will still be watched by people 50 years from now. Everything about that movie simply works. It's just too bad that every other Predator film which came out afterwards range from mediocre to totally forgettable. I quite liked Predator 2 - mainly for Danny Glover I have to say.

I Google why Arnold wasn't in the sequel: the studio and he couldn't agree on $250,000 of his salary.
$250,000? The studio should had given it to him.

$250,000? The studio should had given it to him. Keep in mind that Predator 2 was shot in 1989. 250k for a film role back then was a LOT.

The budget was $30 million. $30 million and 250,000 is not much more. It made $57 million total. With Arnold I bet it would had made over $100 million because Predator made $98 million on a budget of 15-18 million.

Danny Glover was decent in the role but I didn't like the overt campiness of some of the acting in the movie.

Oh and I guess I should add my personal top 3 best Pacific war films:
1. Tora, Tora, Tora
2. Letters from Iwo Jima
3. Flags of our Fathers I really enjoyed those, so to add a few to a longer list... "Father Goose", "Away All Boats", "Operation Petticoat"

It may be a slightly weird choice but my favourite war movie is Kelly's Heroes. Music & actors aside that movie looks like it could have been shot last year.

Try the more recent "Prey" from 2022.

Rather disjointed, inexplicable plot, not much 'Boot' content.
As disappointing almost as 'Masters of the Air'. Is this season 1 or season 2 you are watching? My understanding is that there are 2 seasons/series made so far. As soon as I read that season 1 had a shoe-horned lesbian relationship in it I lost ALL interest.

Admittedly, "Crimson Tide" also makes use of some of those tropes but the on-screen chemistry between Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington was so good that I forgave the excessive use of those tropes.

As soon as I read that season 1 had a shoe-horned lesbian relationship in it I lost ALL interest. Sorry, I omitted to write 'series 4'. Rather disappointing lazy writing at the end. The whole of this series is reminscent of improbable 1970's wartime capers. Oh well, another 'Grand Tour' drops today, that'll be some compensation, and also I can tut and 'dry teeth' at the latest episode of 'MoA'

I bailed on The Rookie in Season 3, it got way too preachy and stopped being entertaining. Tried watching a few Amazon shows, but they added commercials. I'm gonna have to bust out some trusty but dusty disks at this rate.

I salute the spectacle, but it felt rushed and really needed to be a miniseries.

I have just finished Mr Inbetween's third and final series. Wow. Criminally overlooked Australian drama with some dark comedy thrown in. It follows Ray Shoesmith, a small time hitman who was clearly a SF type beforehand. Absolutely stonking storylines all wrapped up in thirty odd minute episodes. Truly sad it is over and the finale is up there with the greatest series like Breaking Bad etc. Highly recommended. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7472896/
