I liked this one the most of the Dirty Harry movies.

However you sure get an eyeful of '70s aesthetics, what a fantastically ugly decade!

Definitely an ugly decade for clothes but the music of that decade was 100x better than the music we have now.

The Russian must had capture a lot of German equipment intact and then kept them running all these years.

The dialogue is in Russian with English subtitles. I don't have a problem with it.

I do find the parts with the Nazis speaking German and then you hear a guy's voice talking over them in Russian very annoying.

Why they didn't just leave it in German and then offer to have Russian or English subtitles?

Also I have watched half a dozen Russian made World War 2 movies.

Everyone of them have the same thing:

the same message about fighting for the Russian motherland, drive them fascist Germans out of our land, you are a soldier of Russia and a hero of the Soviet Union, Stalin is the only one who will lead us to victory, he is like a God send saint, every other line is Comrade this and that. everyone is a Comrade, and so on.

The Nazis did invade Russia, they committed murder along the way, the Russians were not so innocent either; I understand the Russians hated the Nazis, but gee, enough is enough.

You can still make a World War 2 movie without all the rhetoric and propaganda dialogue and messages.

Stalin was no Saint. He murdered millions of his own troops and population before World War 2 began and during.

The top 3 murdering national leaders by body count for the entire 20th century:

Samuel L. Jackson and Margot Robbie, the bad guy from James Bond, they all don't do much in this movie. Their characters are wasted.

Wow, 7 years ago that came out? That one totally flew under my radar at the time.

The Wheel of Time season 2.

Much improved over the first season.

I have seen a number of movies the last few weeks:

1) "All the Boys love Mandy Lane" -- Good horror "slasher" movie, despite the infamous star(Johnny Depp saga). This was a fun watch, with quite a few somewhat surprising(depending on how many horror films seen) twists and turns. Fun. *** out of **** stars.

2) "15 Minutes" -- Another winner from the "Two Days in the Valley" director. He made only three good films, actually. This one stars a fire marshal on the hunt for psychotic killers in New York. Great film, and a very nice nod to cop dramas, with a twist, in one scene in particular. *** 1/4 out of **** stars.

3) "Cold in July" -- Wow. I have seen this twice now. One hell of a crime thriller, anyone who is a fan of this genre should watch. #%&*$# good. *** 1/2 out of **** stars.

4) "The House that Jack built" -- Haha. So anyone who has seen, and likes, "American Psycho," will like this. While the main character isn't a pretentious a-hole executive, what we find here is a demented, twisted serial killer who deconstructs himself throughout this retelling of his past kills. This was an international film, so make sure you watch the english(German) version. Quite possibly Matt Dillon's best performance in a film. I don't normally watch films longer than two hours, and specifically avoid anything longer than two and a half, because for the most part the directors fail to economize and end up wasting everyone's time. This one did not, and earned every moment. *** out of **** stars.

5) "The Forger" -- German historical drama about some guy who forged passports for Jews in Nazi Germany. Perhaps if I were Jewish, this might hold more significance, but I must rate a film on the merits of the picture alone, and not the person the film was based on. As a film, I spaced out a few times, and found the dialogue a bit lacking in terms of being descriptive, or building a true, tangible sense of conflict and concern. We have a meandering piece that simply doesn't arise to a level of intensity worthy of such a predicament this gentleman had to endure. There are better WW2 Nazi Germany survivor films out there. Not bad, not great. A bit better than fair. ** 3/4 out of **** stars, although I might go as low as 2 1/2 stars.

Finish the mini-series The Continental From The World Of John Wick episode 3 Theater Of Pain.

It was interesting to see where John WIck's Winston and Charon came from.

Furious (2017)

A film dealing with a Russian knight's seeking vengeance against the Mongol horde after the destruction of his city, loosely based on a true story.

It's kind of the Russian equivalent of 300.

Not great, not terrible.

Watching Expendales 4. How is that in charge of the Expendables team?!?

The movie was a big box office flop so it doesn't matter now anyway.

The budget is $100 million. I don't see it! The CGI is horrible! A toddler can see the ship, helicopters and airplanes are fake. They should had models special effects and it will be more real looking.

The $100 million must had gone to her chest.

Why is she so white? She doesn't go out in the sunlight?

I didn't know who she is until I looked her up.

Ink all over her skin--automatic write off.

Ink on a woman's skin of any shape or size is an automatic disqualification and ignore. They do not exist.


None allowed.

Period.


As far as tans are concerned, there's nothing wrong with pale skin--in fact, can be quite nice. Women who tan often develop more wrinkles and age faster.

The 100 million mostly went to pay actor salaries and for the on-location shooting.

Speaking of light skin and wrinkles. I would not let sun touch my skin for any length of time without heavy use of Sun Block lotion -- since I was around 30 years old (even though I swam, skin dived, and scuba dived, played golf, etc.).

The nurses seeing me "undressed" say I look 15 to 20 years younger than I am. Just make sure you eat vitamin D and K products to compensate for the lack of sun-on-skin (I found that out the hard way).
