C'mon, Nigeria changed capital city more than 30 years ago. Ok... Stay calm, let's say it was in Abuja. I'd bet real money that at least 50% of Americans couldn't find Nigeria on an unlabeled global map.

The original film is a classic but don't bother with the remake that was on the SyFy Channel about 10 years ago. It was a total waste of time.

I saw a few movies last weekend:
1) "Miami Connection" -- Thanks Crane Hunter. So bad, so good, was right. The fight scenes made up for the rest. Fun cheese. Apparently the main Tae Kwon Do guy is the real deal and runs a big studio in Orlando, hosts tournaments, etc. Neat. I thought the promo vid at the beginning was a joke, but was not. Hard to rate vs. contemporary films, but vs. cheese, I'd give a ** 1/2 out of **** stars.
2) "The Limey" -- Not a bad late 90s revenge movie, albeit with a couple weird plot twists. Don't mess with a Dad's daughter, and if you do, be prepared to pay the price. *** out of **** stars.
Because of the long weekend, I got to treat myself to two of the finest movies ever made:
"Alien"
"Aliens"
Still amazing. Still a perfect four stars. These are shining examples of excellence. Ridley Scott's original, however, had a much better aspect ratio, capturing far more with the wider camera lens. Also, the characters were less cheesy and more believable in the first film. Cameron's sequel hits a rough spot when the space marines show up, and there's a fair bit of cheese in the dialogue and scene framing. Also, the director's cut adds a few unnecessary scenes, such as when Newt's Dad gets wasted by a facehugger at the beginning. If I recall correctly, the original theatrical release we grew up with did not show this, so we were in the dark when Sigourney's character was told the colony went dark. We literally had no idea(but we weren't naive, we expected) the colony was overrun. I feel suspense was better served by omitting this scene entirely. Once the film started moving after they landed, however, she never let up until the end. What an amazing ride. Watch on widescreen with surround sound or don't bother. These films deserve the full treatment. Show them respect.
Also, I finished the series "Continuum," before starting "Yellowstone."
"Continuum" was pretty good, overall, but fell into the trap of localizing their characters to a set area, and there was too much of playing "base," going back and forth. Thus, the show did not have an epic feeling that say "Game of Thrones" might have had. Not bad, I enjoyed the show. I rate this *** out of **** stars, as far as sci fi shows go. "Twelve Monkeys," however, was a vastly superior time travel series.

Especially dad's who possess a certain set of skills.

These are the only timeless classics that are worth watching multiple times from the entire ALIEN movie franchise. All of the other films from Alien 3 to Covenant range from mediocre to laughably bad.

Hearing that song always puts a smile on my face. Will have to rewatch Kelly’s Heroes, haven’t seen it in 15 years or so. Great movie.
In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

"Spider Man" 2002 version that describes Spider Man's beginning.
I thought I'd seen a Spider Man, but not this one; however, it seemed too familiar.
I checked, turns out we had seen "Amazing Spider Man" 2014 version "on line" some time ago. It's a reboot that also describes Spider Man's beginning.
We really liked the 2002 "episode". We have 4 other recently purchased Spider Man DVDs to watch (~$3 per DVD). One will be a re-watch of the 2014 version.

Spider Man is gay in the 2002 version, as I shouted out loud in the crowded theater to much laughter at the final scene of the film. How dare he reject Mary Jane like that.
