The Last Queen's Guard

https://www.tiktok.com/@basingstokescouser/video/7142045465184341253

I don't want to disrespect the Queen and her guards but I have to second the same comment many made in the comment section of ^^^ Tik Tok video:

Quote
Aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?

That last guard on the far right, is that a man or a woman?

I am admiring and impressed how civil our British friends are during this sad times. Standing in a line that stretches for at least 4.9+ miles and as much as 10 miles with a wait time that goes for 11.5-30 hours and for many of them, it includes standing out in the open overnight.

This will not work in the USA. People fight and sometimes shoot each other over a line for coffee, McDonald's or whenever something free is given out like athletic shoes, food, concert tickets. Most of the time in the USA there isn't even a line for those things, just a big mob of people everyone fighting to get to the front of it.

We Americans can learn manners and civility from our British friends.

Here is a picture of The Queen, checking the oil on Nick Mason's 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO.
What's the car worth ? oh only somewhere between $39.6 and $48.4 Million.
Pink Floyd used this car as collateral to finance their 1987 tour.

Thank you, it is appreciated.
I admit to being interested in how other nations are reporting & commenting on the death of HRH Q E II, the reaction of the British (& foreign) public to it & all the ceremony, pomp & circumstance.
She was a constant in the life of many (not just in the UK) , an example of all the best of British & of a life of service.

If you haven't already watched the James Bond/Queen video from the Olympics, you must watch it!

I just saw the David Beckham stood in line for 13 hours to view the Queen. That really is something. Talk about respect.

The Lying In State procession is still going on and it's schedule to end at 6 am which is in less than 5 hours.

There are people still in the long Queue, which stopped adding new people to it hours ago.

Some of the folks who have been in line for 12-15 hours will never get to the lying in state and will be told to go home when that clock hits 6 am.

I will be real mad to be told to go home after I stood out there in the weather for 12-15 hours.

Funeral in the morning and some folks were camping out with tents starting Friday.

It will be on TV. I rather watch it on TV than camp out out there for 3-4 days.

The only thing I would stand in line that long for is a Pink Floyd concert.

Yeah, I'd have to agree. I'm not anti-Royal (except for Whinge & Ginge) but this whole event has left me indifferent. I've watched none of it so far. (Not having a TV helps).

My neighbour went to see the Queen yesterday. She needed a wheelchair (joined a special short queue) and still waited for 6 ours.

One thing that we Brits do well though is pomp and circumstance. I'll probably watch some of it on YT later.

If you watch Jaws backwards, it's a heart warming story about a shark that spits out so many people that they have to open a beach.

The Queen had many, many dogs over her life. Inevitably, most of those died during her reign.
Her last 2 are going to live with Prince Andrew & Sarah Ferguson.
