it is unfortunate, but their forum policy does not allow for accounts to be deleted.
the only reason of having an account in a consumer support forum is to get support and since I no longer play it, it is a redundant account.
That is the way it is and of this, nothing more ever again.

You may have missed a few posts Flogger.......the 'release' version is just the open beta but it's renamed. There are still all sorts of bugs and issues including the memory leak. I've no idea what ED are playing at........normally, they try to keep their incompetence under wraps and have excuses at the ready, this time they are broadcasting that they don't have a clue how to integrate, test and release their own products.
I assume it's just a case of the same old. They will most likely drop work on 2.5 like a hot stone now and focus on the Hornet. That is after all, a way of ripping more people off with an early release and yet another product that will never be finished before moving onto whatever comes after that.

Appartley...it's not a "memory leak": Memory Limit Issues Hey guys, This post is to clarify the issues that some have been having with 2.5, and to clarify what is going on, and the best way to approach working with it. First, this is NOT a memory leak. A memory leak would be that usage of RAM continues to increase during running of the sim until it uses all you memory and the program crashes or stops responding. What is actually happening is that with 2.5 and all its new features, people are hitting their RAM limit on load of maps. Why? Well 2.5 has added higher object counts, from collide-able trees, new buildings, more buildings, and other objects to make the maps look more alive and detailed. Include in this higher detailed textures and you can see how more RAM is needed. Currently ED is testing a solution that will help much of this. The initial version of the dynamic texture unload manager which will greatly improve performance for heavy online missions is currently under test and should be available for users within the coming two weeks. We apologise for the delay but a last minute issue arose with this module. What can you do while you wait? Adjusting older missions from 1.5, especially for multiplayer, by removing un-needed units can help. Mission design can really help manage RAM usage, and for the time being will be the best bet to help. As well, look at your computer specs, by no means does ED demand you guys upgrade to 32GB, but if you are running 8GB, you may need to evolve with the times, and understand that as ED offers bigger more detailed environments, the demands on your system will need to evolve as well. I hope this clarifies a little more of what is going on, and that ED is truly working to make this the best experience for all.
Looks like they spent so much time making it shiney...now you have to strip units out of an already sterile and lifeless battlefield to make it playable.

That explanation doesn't make sense to me. When you run out of ram, you still have virtual memory... Going to harddrive for VM would make it slow, not crash.

There is no easy way to put this, but 8GB is for the low-end, this means less eye candy and less objects, DCS is speeding away from systems with lower GB totals What he means is that, the ED developers are getting lazy and will not optimise wherever possible. I'd say play it safe and ensure you have 128GB RAM within the next couple of years. Quite amazing how the customer base on the ED message boards are just lapping this up and accepting it.

Quite amazing how the customer base on the ED message boards are just lapping this up and accepting it. They've all been castrated. I'm not trying to be funny, After so many years of censorship and bans folk are too scared to voice an opinion. Too scared to do anything other than praise ED for whatever ED does. ED the company could write into their EULA that they can have the customers first born child, take the child and the ED regulars would thank ED for their modules. There are literally no balls left over there.

Played a quick mission centered around ground units. Looks like ground vehicles still have obscene tracking and accuracy against fighters. Must have been at least 1500 feet in a MIG-29 when a BMP-2 blew me to bits with ease. Every ground vehicle can still track me extremely fast, even if they are manually operated turrets. With the field of view in a vehicle such as a BMP being very narrow I can't see why they can accuracy pinpoint an aircraft and track with such accuracy. Coming in for a gun/rocket run is almost suicidal because they tend to track, aim and open fire right as you get into range and start lining up your target. Very disappointed in this, because air to ground (outside of ATGMs) is still practically non-playable. There is no easy way to put this, but 8GB is for the low-end, this means less eye candy and less objects, DCS is speeding away from systems with lower GB totals What he means is that, the ED developers are getting lazy and will not optimise wherever possible. Personally I've never had an issue with 8GB of RAM for any game before, but honestly I don't expect developers to need to keep catering to it forever. Just like a number of games are now having some performance issues due to streaming textures if installed on a HDD. 8GB is certainly on the lower end these days.
