Also 290 thousand 10 bob notes too, lots were spent knowingly or unknowingly and still 76,000 (38k or about 1.17 million in todays money) of them are absent without official leave.

Did you watch the pre-season 1 web episodes on YouTube first?

5 episodes.

Each one about 4-6 min long, called Diamond Girls.

Have you a link to them? I'm watching all sorts of 'diamond girls' but I don't think they are the ones you mean biggrin

They won't play for me.

It says uploader didn't allow it for my country.

I am in the USA.

You are in the UK so maybe they will play for you.

If they don't, let me know and I can upload them.

Cars 2 - first pixar movie which I've felt "meh" about.

Let Me In - probably my favorite vampire movie not considering the original dracula.

I watched the MST3K version of course and I just copy and pasted the IMDB link because I didn't feel like typing the film title. smile

Ex Machina (2015)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0470752/

Dang! I wish there were more!

Without spoiling the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it, the ending was awesome.

Think about the premise of the movie and think about the ending. It was wow!

We didn't see that coming.

Mortdecai.

I actually really enjoyed it.Gwyneth Paltrow is quite lovely. The film seems to have attracted rather a lot of hate. The worst film of 2015? Not by a long shot.

Thank you Ray Harryhausen. I've always had a soft spot for his work, whether it be Mighty Joe Young, The Valley of Gwangi or Sinbad. Great great stuff that you won't ever see the likes of ever again.

Quality-wise it may not be bad but it's one of the biggest box office flops so far of 2015.

No. He just carried the torch farther than Willis O'Brien. Sadly, with the exception of King Kong and 1929s The Lost World most of O'Brien's other work was either abandoned or lost. Harryhausen learned from O'Brien and his first major work came on Mighty Joe Young as assistant animator. If I remember right he said he did the lions in the fight with Joe at the ranch and further assisted in the nightclub scenes.

From there he carried the torch into so many movies blazoned in childhood memory. How many people he inspired to create what we see today in all forms of movie creation, we'll never know. But, Willis O'Brien started it all. Thankfully they both were masters of their craft.

Stop motion is hard, laborious, tedious work that takes great concentration. It's usually not appreciated like it should be... but maybe that's just me.

I would think that modern audiences probably don't appreciate it because it looks fake. There's no doubt though that stop motion was received much better by audiences during the 1950's and 1960's.

Speaking of stop motion technology, I've always found "Clash of the Titans" to have been an anomaly. Here's a film that came out in 1981 and it was still using stop motion!

Robocop used it too and was well received. Even in 2015 it holds up relatively well.

Technology advances and I do like CGI a lot. I don't think Jurassic Park would have had the same impact if it was done in stop motion. It still would have been a great movie but the detail that CGI permits made the scenes much more believable. I can't imagine how the Must Go Faster scene would have looked with stop motion.

I do appreciate the artwork and dedication of stop motion a lot... but I do understand that technology brings us advancements that improve our viewing experience and CGI is one of those advances.
