I don't think Para Bellum would have liked Caprica. wink
Yeah I'd say that's a safe bet.

Raging Bull, finally. Then sat back and watched a few of Jake LaMottas fights on the tube. I thought Pesci was nearly better than De Niro myself smile

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0359950/

Beautifully filmed remake of the 1947 classic but I can't recommend it.

It's like eating a full course dinner and leaving the restaurant afterward still feeling empty and hungry!

So the film had too much MSG?

Great film. Kim Basinger kind of disappeared after that movie.

A movie called "Her". An interesting scfi drama. About a lonely guy who's girlfriend is a computer operating system capable of learning called OS1. Worth a view at a very possible look at the future

Reng kantai shirei chkan: Yamamoto Isoroku

Japanese movie (2011) about Admiral Yamamoto. Some decent CGI including some aerial fighting but all in all a rather slow, dialogue-heavy movie. The character of Yamamoto appears very much idealized, a thoughtful man always fighting for peace under difficult circumstances. As with most Japanese WW2 movies I miss a bit a more critical approach to the subject.

I'd rate it 6/10. 7/10 for history buffs.

I really like the actor who portrayed Yamamoto in "Tora Tora Tora". Actually that entire Japanese cast was very good.

Yep, that cast was excellent.

I think that Koji Yakusho did a good job in the Yamamoto movie, but the script could've been much better.

Dallas Buyers Club (2013)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0790636/

Decent movie but not worthy of a Best Picture Oscar Nomination.

By the time it ended, it felt disjointed.

I give it 3.75/5

12 Years a Slave (2013)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2024544

A very emotionally difficult movie to watch yet it still doesn't minimize the importance of its historical value and the scope of its dramatic impact.

If this film sweeps the Academy this year, it will be very well deserved.

4.75/5
