Some pics: Seat, table trays and Warthog mounts (A10):  Had to unpack the heavy box while it was still inside the car, nobody else home to help. Note the packing material, sealed bags of air:  Flanges are protected by stiff cardboard inserts. Note to Chris: instead of an 'L' shape, a full 'U' shape would be best, one of the flanges on my R3vo had a corner bent in a bit where the 'L' corner didn't protect it.  Everything:  Wingman checks out the seat:  New Warthog mounts, custom fitted to hardware footprint.  Been building today, I think there is going to be a lot of tweaking done before anything is final. Freakin back is killing me between shoveling 6000 pounds of wet snow off the driveway the last two days in a row and now all the contortions of putting this thing together

 Actually getting ahead of myself a bit but it's fun putting everything together. This thing is going up stairs so I plan to take it apart down to three big bits, front section, rear section with seat, and monitor stand and move it up with a neighbour's help. Right now just getting the important stuff set up for ergonomics, looking at seat position for best throw of stick and throttle and where touchscreen will be. Touchscreen is too low in the low position and a bit high in the high position... may have to buy a bracket. Goal is to have a center stick with the extension attached like in the pic but I have to figure out how to mount it. The seat cushion and fore aft adjustment lever gets in the way so I'm still playing with how high to mount the stick base, how long the extension should be, etc...

Probably a long shot, but is anyone not using the wheel mount and have interest in selling it? I'm hoping to be able to somewhat easily switch between my wheel and a touchscreen for Helios. I figured I'd see if I can just buy a spare before rolling my own solution.
Can't wait for the new Warthog mounts! That'll help me out as I wanted another shifter mount and I didn't realize the upcoming Warthog mount would include a special bolt-on one as well as the stick mount. Now I'm glad I haven't ordered a second flight stick mount set yet.

Lookin good Jocko, and I appreciate your support man! I'm anxious to see how you get on with making your stick extension work One quick tip, if ya plan on moving it upstairs like you mentioned, you'll probably be better off leaving the pedal tray off till you get it put back together. Re not using it for simracing, we actually have lots of folks, that don't do any sim'ing at all, using the cockpit as a computer desk. In China we even have folks that do not play any games/sims, purchasing the cockpit to use as a computer desk. So you're not alone man, but happy to see more and more folks realizing it was never just about simracing, but for all gamers & heavy computer users. ________________________________________________________________ Hey Liquid, I reckon most folks will be using their main mount for something, but if you'd like one you can purchase it directly from us in China. I'm working on a little something right now. It's based on the front console from an Akers-Barnes cockpit, but is boxed in on the sides and back. I've mounted the guts of an old 24" monitor in the center, two UM80s on the right side for engine instruments and a caution panel, and three open panels on the left side. I am working on remaking the three switch panels I had earlier done in a bit larger size.
The panels are F-16 based but not exact. I have two GPWiz40 boards and will be replicating the MISC ARMT, LG PANEL, and CMDS panels.
I also have an Aimsworth F-16 ICP. However , the power cord broke. As far as I know, the only switches that needed it were the Drift C/O and FLIR toggle switches. If that is true, I'll likely run new wires from them out to a GPWiz board.
I currently have my 24" touchscreen on the main wheel mount. What I want to do is move that to a tabletop arm and put my new console on the other, leaving the main mount empty and allowing me to quickly switch between the two. Not sure yet if that'll work because the console is rather large.

Thanks. There was no way I could fit the Obutto in my bedroom otherwise, and I didn't want it in the living room or study. It works out pretty well, and is quite literally a man cave.

Have been down with flu the last three days so no progress has been made on the cockpit. The extension I have is 8 inches but I may shorten it depending on how high the stick base ends up. Remember the longer the stick, the farther the grip travels at full deflection, you don't want to be having to lean forward at full nose down for example.

I used to go by Hokie17 on the ED forums until I found the login info for my old SN, and now use RogueSqdn there also. As for the stick extension, I ended up not needing it and just use the Obutto Warthog mount.
I accomplished my stick rotation a while back by a method from DudleyAz (check out my earlier post with the photos for a link).

Not that I can think of. I'd imagine you'd have to bolt something to the frame. The stick position with the Obutto Warthog mount is great though.

Ya I'm with Rogue on this one, our mount sets the sticks height, whereas your extension sets the height. In order to run that stick extension you would need to fabricate a mount that bolts to the frame where the current mounting post bolts, or modify our mount substantially (see below). Probably wouldn't be too difficult to make if you have an angle grinder, drill & stick or mig welder. I think Jocko's pic may show the throttle mounting post where the stick mounting post should be, as planned, but it really comes down to where each individual wants his stick. Anyways, here is a quick thought for you 2.....just cut off the majority of the top part of the "L" shaped mounting post, leaving around 5cm, then drill a hole & weld on a nut near the top. Cut the A10 mount as follows, cut off the top mounting plate (leaving the square tubing on the bottom), then cut off 5.5cm of the vertical tubing, or as much of the vertical tubing that allows you to insert into your new mounting post and clear the top. Centre the 5.5cm tubing on the bottom of your mounting plate and weld to the square tubing. This is not perfect though as your stick will still probably be a bit high and there is no way to lower it. In order to get low enough IMO, you would need to get some materials and start from scratch on a mount that bolts on. The new "mhe" inspired A10 mount does work great with a stock height Warthog as the mounting plate is the same circumference as the bottom of the Warthog base (the base that's used for hard mounting). Unless you're set on the extra (more realistic) stick travel, the new A10 mount should work well for ya. Hope this helps and wasn't too confusing

I need to use it as a normal desk as well and the other smaller mounts (designed for the r3volution) would be too small for me.

The acrylic tabletop for the oZone probably won't fit the R3Volution without some end user customizations.
