"1/2" - "Rabota 1/2", next to "Peremena chastoti" on SA-2. It should make transmition on 75 km mode to be like in 150 km mode, as I got it right, but did it work on 150 km mode? When I flip it, the screen changes a little, but this mean nothing...RAB.NA fo/2 It is an extreme rarely used feature of the Volhov. While guiding a missile, it is not recommended to switch the range mode from 75km to 150km. (switching from 150km to 75km is ok) In case, when we are guiding a missile, and we are in 75km range mode, and would like to go to 35km mode, we do the following... 1, switch fo/2, leaving the range mode selector in 75km mode. 2, switch 35km at the I32V panel.

As I know, "35 km" mode is used against specific radar countermeasures and in this mode we "see" only 35 km from the site, but what was the idea of "RAB.NA fo/2"? I mean when the target is closer we use "75 km" mode (with more emitted signals). As I've noticed, "35 km" mode can be switced both with "150 km" and "75 km". We can't use it in "75 km" mode and should modulate a "fake" 150 km mode (with "RAB.NA fo/2"), or what? I've confuse myself, it seems to me like "1/2", sorry... Should buy new monitor,

If you are in 75km, and you select 35km, than nothing should happen. 35km is one method to overcome strong passive clutter beyond 75km. Like here... This cannot be canceled by the SDC, so we can switch to 35km instead.

Do you have time (and will) to explain how "35 km" exactly works... I Hope it won't bother you much... When I find a manual on english or russian I'll stop annoyn' at the forum, but 'till then...

When I find a manual on english or russian I'll stop annoyn' at the forum, but 'till then...The exact explanation... 35km range mode is using the same 1044/1132 micro second emitted impulse repetition period, that is used by the 150km range mode. The receiver in this case is open only for 233 micro second. To explain it in short, this is just the magnification of the first 35km of the 150km display.

Now many micro seconds is open the receiver in 75 km mode? I can't figure it out how this (150km) bigger repetition period helps against clutters.... Anyway, can you provide data about posibility against distance for "srabotovanie" of 5E11 proximity fuse from the Holly books?

No HARM's feelings... Anyway, common people are much more wise than politics... This meeting proves that.

It reminds me of Simon Weston and that Argentinian pilot. Anyway, common people are much more wise than politics... This meeting proves that.

? Vertical axis - P(posiblity) (from 0 to 1). Horizontal axis - D(distance) (from 0 to 300 meters)..., something like that....

something like that.... The 20D missile of the Volhov system is much more advanced compared to the 11D of the Dvina. Much development effort went into the radio proximity fuse, and the warhead. (You will have to do more settings manually with the Dvina, as it has no K4 command.) The radio proxy fuse can detect the target either 70 degree or 77 degree. The warhead can direct its fragments either +5 or -5 degree perpendicular to its axis. With the K4 command, the SNR signals the missile of the target-missile approach speed, and selects the proxy receiver antenna, and warhead direction. approach speed - radio proxy fuse - warhead <670m/s - +5deg - 77deg with USU, 70deg without USU 670-950m/s - +5deg - 70deg 950-1230m/s - -5deg - 77deg >1230m/s - -5deg - 70deg

These drawings are against the lowest expected Radar Cross Section target, with 92% chance (page 72)... ... ~0.1m if I remember well. Against bigger RCS targets ie Ground Clutter, the sensitivity is discussed at page 65. (200-300m without USU, 75-100m with USU) ps: my data is also from this, see page52...

On page 72 there is an calculation about possibility of killing a fighter-bomber with one missile... Nothing about RCS... The file is poyasnzapiskiC75.djvu... As I can understand, if we want missile to detonate for sure against a fighter target, we should bring it less than 60 meters from the target... Curiouse about how you program it in the SIM...
