Use the torrent - plus seed. We all win. But let me download it first. Edit: It's only 54MB, not sure if worth going torrent mad actually. Edit2: Ok got it installed, am seeding if you find the megauploadadvertsthing slow.

*** WARNING ***
This patch is a bit poorly, so either backup your Steam app (copy the app directory or use the Steam games / library / Properties / Backup feature) so you can restore back to anything other than the latest Steam version.
Buildings seem now gone, plus freezes back. Lost about 20% FPS in the proper 'Full Screen' mode.
Will continue to reset settings and see if this is just an upgrade thing.

Harrumph! Same as last time. Still don't know why I can't make these patches work, but, having only just got my Arma installations working properly again after screwing and reinstalling just about everything last time, I'm going to make like the Buddha, sit calmly and wait for the patch proper via Steam. Really hanging out for the force feedback.
Looking forward to your reports FF.
Good luck with it chaps!

Still getting rubber-banding while flying over buildings. The amount is irrelevant. Could be a few houses or a town....same thing.
V-Sync semi works....it locks my FPS at 60, but I still get screen-tearing.
AA works!
QMB is almost unchanged. They've just added a few more template missions.

Hey I got it working! This posted by KDN at bananaforum: Ok, gentlemen. Not really a problem. It is a security issue. Once you get the zip file BEFORE extracting it, right click on it, go properties and click UNBLOCK. Then extract and proceed as normal. That's sorted it. After a quick 12 minute takeoff, once round the houses and landing in a Spit1 on the stock crosscountry quicky... - love the FFB - Got a couple of serious fresians on the runway - fullscreen seemed a bit clunky - I had to go in and out of the flight a couple of times before it kicked in at fullsize. S!

Think I'll give it a miss, sounds like they broke some old stuff to half-implement some new stuff.

Ok, progress report after 10 minutes play (quick rather than accurate journalism at it's best heh). I clear my docs cache just in case. - Force feedback on MSFF2 seems not too bad. Gun recoil, stall 'shudders' (scared the hell out of the dog as the table almost vibrated it's legs off (shakes fist in air at Ikea)). Seems a bit inconsistent, in that it goes from very light to down-right harsh at low speed. Build up those arm muscles gents - The performance in Full Screen is pretty much the same. I had terrible performance on first applying but then realized that the (non-working before) x8 AA in the video options was now doing something. - Graphic loading glitches, in that they pull in the texture for land in a different order that seems to bork occasionally. Here's a bad one: - QMB is a bit of an enigma. You can change aircraft details and load-out now, but I'm sure my red tracer ammo didn't take. Need more playing. Plus no idea really what 'Slides' / 'Map' do on the upper left? More to come a bit later. Apparently I have to work to get paid to get money to get these toys. Quite unfair.

Had issues running the game at a lower resolution than the desktop. Ended up with the game showing at its resolution in the top-left of the screen on the desktop once the mission (track in this case) started. Setting the desktop to the game resolution before launching it cured this.
Also, Spitfire with no CEM enabled seems to be fixed. \o/
Performance overall seems to be slightly reduced - or more stuttering I felt during the black death track. Don't quote me on that tho.

Oh, the 'turn Aero off' thing (ironically) now breaks the Track player file select, as in you should 're-enable Aero' on launcher.exe 'Desktop composition' if you want to see the dialogs again.
Just as an informal comparison, the track 'Black Death' was just about watchable before but now not so much. I suspect a lot of the settings I've tuned up for will need to be re-tuned once this hits Steam perhaps on Monday.

This one didn't seem to like my system much.
Stuttering is worsened by far. There are also some weird lines on the ground visible from some distance, but getting close to them, they disappear. I can't really say if it's doing true full screen or not (using the same resolution as my desktop.)
FF was something I was really looking forward to, but it's not good on my G940. The shaking and such is OK, if perhaps somewhat exaggerated. Stick forces are mostly rediculously strong, but sometimes they nearly disappear, only to come back again as strong as ever. It seems to ignore the FF settings from the control panel, and I can't find anywhere to configure them in the game.

No problem with this, Aero Off - Windows 7 set to performance and "Disable desktop composition" checked in Laucher.exe shortcut, and track record in previous version work fine. Sokol1

What about a realistic sound patch? Man, they really did push an Alpha version of this sim on the consumer.

MP seems more stable. On the SYN server for 30 minutes and no crash, which is a first (Launcher.exe crash that is). Still treated my Hurricane like a 1 week old (open radiator, nice mix, low rev's) and got a duff water radiator though.
It seems that generally the two main things catching people out with this patch are:
- AA now works, so if you've left it at x8 in game then FPS drops like crazy (as it's on now)
- First couple of missions run through show corruption/glitches and that might be to do with no clearer out the shaders cache here:
C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover\cache
..it seems safe just to delete/rename that whole cache directory.
ForceFeedback is certainly something to get used too, was tempted to cut power to it once or twice.

Not seeing the QMB. Is it supposed to be an option under Single Player?
