Looks terrific. I really wonder how much you can stretch this engine. Definitely the sim that captures best the BOB mood and feel (for me). Thanks for the update.
Michael

Thanks DocW.
Well technically anything is possible, but practically it comes down to resource.
We have a great core team and new stuff just continues at the pace we can manage. Hope you'll like the next updates.

Actually, the "old Time Machine" does still have legs to crawl into it's future but we do have technical and manpower/skill challenges.
The future is open for BOBII's enhancement and the only constraint for the BDG are limits to the BOBII design, manpower, knowledge, and skill but those are very large limits for us.
I am personally very happy to get all the work done on the Tiger Moth in the game (or it will be soon as we can complete and test it).
Intel I7 920 processor (2.66GHz, 8MB cache), 6GB DDR3 Triple Channel @1333MHz, 1.8GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295, Sound Blaster X-Fi PCI Sound Card, Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit , CH Fighter Stick & Pedals ,TrackIR4 Pro thanks to BobII crew.

After looking at the shots I fired it up yesterday evening (.10 Version), and had sadly the same issue that killed it for me the last attempts. I will post over at the A2A forum, as this seems to be the appropriate place. I'd really like to dig deeper into it. Be assured, that I follow your activities closely.
BTW, I am reading "First Light" at the moment, makes one daydream about spitfires the whole day. Makes one wanting to fly BOBII actually bad.
Michael.

... I am Wehner over at A2A - problems solved. You made me enter the "time machine" again. Ready to go.

Thanks DocW.
Well technically anything is possible... Yes, is that true ? what actually is the Merlin-engine ? Is it the "campaign" motor of the game, the graphics-engine, or everything ? I was wondering before how possibly people could alter a simulation like that - even if they have the source code. I would think the graphics are more or less hard-coded in the engine, but you guys really stretch the envelope. Michael

Yes, we have the complete run of the source code, meaning we can do absolutely anything we want with it. The problem is that it's over a million lines, and not terribly well documented, but mostly it requires people who have a knowledge of C++, time, interest and motivation to hack for the pure joy of it. We haven't had a lot of volunteers, and presently we rely pretty much exclusively on two, who somehow manage to perform miracles. Buddye and Osram have made almost all the developments in the BoB2 code, with occasional greatly appreciated assistance of coders briefly borrowed from A2A.
But the potential of the engine is such that another four or eight coders could easily be employed for all their available spare time to provide the enhancements we would like to deliver. And we'll continue the development indefinitely, so long as there are things to do and users to appreciate them.

Bader old man, Jib01/02 here. I have just returned to flying again after being absent for 2-3 years. Wings of Prey brought be back to England to fight again. It really is a good show and makes you feel like you are in the RAF with the chatter and behind the scenes stuff.
Update me on what is going on with BOB....

Hello Jib, been a while! Well, the major work post 2.10 is in incorporating a Tiger Moth which handles as they should and adding some 200+ new models into the terrain. It's looking quite nice. 2.10 was the last official update and 2.11 is well underway. There's life in the old dog yet

As I understand it, they don't award medals often in the RAF, certainly not within a month or two of being earned.
