my install has been really stable until recently and i didnt do anything new to the pc to provoke it (no new programs, drivers, hardware etc)

now, i find i am getting a ctd sometimes in the middle of a dogfight. i did a complete uninstall and reinstall but it is still happening

any ideas for what i can test or check?

Had the same problem recently after a Java update, did the uninstall and reinstall, reboot and then it seemed happy again! When you uninstalled did you delete ALL the files, including the ones in the My Documents folder? If none of the above helps, I'm sure one of the CFS veterans will be along soon to help out!

If no software changed check out your video card or CPU maybe it's clogged with dust and overheating?
